The Story

Evan Williams 200th Anniversary Bourbon Decanter 1980s / Heaven Hill Gift Box

Evan Williams is a range of Kentucky Straight Bourbons produced by Heaven Hill Brands. As with the other Heaven Hill brands, it is distilled in Louisville and aged at the company's warehouses in Bardstown. The label's namesake opened Kentucky's first commercial distillery on the banks of the Ohio River in 1783.

The standard expression is the Black Label, which sees around seven years of aging, high by Bourbon standards. The 1783 is a batch release made from selected barrels, while Single Barrel Vintage is the highly regarded, and self-explanatory, deluxe release. All three whiskeys are 43 percent abv (86 proof).

The range also includes a number of flavored Bourbons, a premixed eggnog and Kentucky cider, which is in fact a blend of apple cider liqueur and Bourbon.
