Pinot Gris fermented on its skins - Ramato - born of alluvial terroir on the Sacramento River. The wine is both structured and breezy - a versatile selection equally fit for elaborate meals and casual occasions.
Fermented with native yeast and bacteria. The fruit reached a greater degree of phenological maturi this year, with
full "gris" color in all berries at harvest (unusual for this site). Primary fermentation, Pinot Gris was fermented on skins for 2 weeks, aged in neutral oak for 8 months.
Love at First Sight ranks among our most "terroir-driven" wines. This is a single vineyard production of 100% Pinot Gris fermented on its skins with minimal sulfur added during elevage. The vineyard lies on the banks of the Sacramento River in Clarksburg, CA, where the vines thrive in alluvial soils. The abundant California sun and daytime highs are tempered by the cooling effect of the adjacent river, resulting in a balanced, structured, low alcohol wine with a deep pink color. We enjoy the chalky character of this wine and love to serve it with crudite or charcuterie. It also functions supremely well outdoors, on a sunny day, ice cold out of the cooler. A wine so versatile, so complete.. we let it shine solo. It was Love at First Sight.
